Summer Solstice Celebration
This June, we celebrated the return of summer in a charitable way by sponsoring the Solstice Foundation’s annual Summer Solstice Celebration. Located at one of our favorite spots on the south shore, Solstice Restaurant in Kingston, MA, we were proud to be a part of this great event.
The Solstice Foundation supports worthy charitable organizations and individuals while upholding the core values of Family, Community, Health & Education that has helped the Solstice Restaurant thrive. Each year Over the past 13 years, the foundation has supported a variety of non-profit organizations and each year they choose a beneficiary of the event’s proceeds. This year’s festival benefited Friendship Home located in Norwell MA whose mission is to is to enrich the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities and support their families by providing quality respite care and services in a safe and caring environment.
This celebration has its iconic staples, including the softest cotton yearly event t-shirts and a big blue Sperry Tent that goes up in the parking lot every year. The tent is made out of genuine sailcloth made by real sailmakers!
Spicy Tuna Nachos
There was a huge variety of delicious bites to eat including the chef’s twist on summer fare made with local ingredients such as Spicy Tuna Nachos and Steamed Pork Buns. We were also spoiled with Island Creek Oysters and even a fish taco food truck!
It was certainly a feel good evening of good food and good music, surrounded by local patrons and small business owners. We look forward to next year’s festival!
